About This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Chronosero collects through its website, how that information is used and kept, and how you can contact Chronosero about it.
It covers:
- the Chronosero website at chronosero.com;
- the Discovery form, where you can describe a process you would like to automate;
- email you send to Chronosero instead of using the Discovery form; and
- ordinary correspondence with Chronosero about your inquiry.
It does not cover services Chronosero may provide to customers in the future under a separate agreement.
Who Operates Chronosero
Chronosero is operated by Michael Pruitt in California, United States.
For privacy questions or requests, email michael@chronosero.com.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you use the Discovery form, Chronosero asks for:
- A description of a process that is taking too much of your time (required).
- Something you repeatedly do that you wish happened automatically (optional).
- Your industry (optional, chosen from a list).
- How often the process happens (optional, chosen from a list).
- The kinds of systems involved, such as email, spreadsheets or accounting software (optional, chosen from a list).
- Your name (required).
- Your business name (optional).
- Your email address (required).
- Your phone number (optional).
The description fields are free text, so they contain whatever you choose to write, which may include details about your business. The form does not accept file uploads.
The short “describe a process” box on the homepage does not send what you type anywhere. It only takes you to the Discovery form, where you enter your description.
If you email Chronosero, call, text or leave a voicemail, Chronosero receives the information you choose to include, such as your name, contact details and the content of your message.
Information created when you submit the Discovery form
When you submit the Discovery form, the system also records:
- the time your request was received;
- a random reference number for your request, and a random one-time code used only to avoid saving the same request twice; and
- the page of the Chronosero website you came from (the page address only, for example “/industries/real-estate”). Chronosero does not record other websites or search engines you came from.
Technical information handled by our service providers
Like any website, chronosero.com can only be delivered to your browser if technical information, such as your IP address, is exchanged. Cloudflare, which hosts the website, processes this kind of technical information to deliver and protect the site. See “Technical and Security Information” below.
Chronosero does not store your IP address with your Discovery request, and does not collect browser or device profiles, precise location, advertising identifiers, payment information or account passwords through the website.
How We Use Information
Chronosero uses the information you provide through the Discovery process to:
- review the process you describe;
- evaluate your automation needs;
- communicate with you about your inquiry; and
- operate, protect and maintain the Discovery process, for example by checking that submissions are complete, avoiding duplicate requests, filtering spam and abuse, and limiting excessive requests.
Chronosero does not use Discovery information for marketing lists, promotional emails, advertising or profiling.
If Chronosero ever wants to use Discovery information in a new way, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that use begins.
Technical and Security Information
When you use the Chronosero website, Cloudflare may process technical information such as your IP address as part of providing, protecting and operating the website. Chronosero also uses IP addresses temporarily to limit excessive requests to the Discovery form and to prevent abuse. Chronosero does not store visitor IP addresses in the Discovery database.
The system that processes Discovery requests keeps short-lived operational logs. These record whether a request succeeded, together with reference numbers; they do not contain your name, email address, phone number, answers or IP address.
This processing is for running and protecting the website. It is not used for analytics, advertising, profiling or tracking you across other websites.
Spam Prevention
Chronosero uses automated measures to identify suspected spam or abusive form submissions. Under Chronosero’s retention policy, information associated with suspected spam submissions is kept for 7 days and is scheduled for deletion after that period by an automated daily process. Suspected spam submissions are not sent as Discovery notification emails.
Cookies, Analytics and Online Tracking
The Chronosero website does not currently use:
- cookies;
- website analytics;
- advertising or tracking pixels;
- third-party advertising or tracking scripts; or
- your browser’s storage to keep information about you.
The website’s fonts are stored on Chronosero’s own site rather than loaded from another company.
Chronosero does not track visitors’ online activities over time and across third-party websites or online services. Because Chronosero does not engage in this type of tracking, browser “Do Not Track” signals do not change how the website operates. This does not affect the ordinary technical and security processing described above, which is needed to deliver the website.
How Information Is Shared
Chronosero does not sell, rent or trade Discovery information, and does not give it to anyone for advertising or marketing.
Chronosero uses the service providers described in the next section to run the website, receive Discovery requests, and handle email. Those providers process information in accordance with their applicable services, terms, and privacy practices.
Service Providers and Other Services We Use
Cloudflare. Chronosero uses Cloudflare to host and protect the website, process Discovery form submissions, store Discovery requests, send Discovery notification emails, forward email sent to michael@chronosero.com, and perform related network and security functions.
Google (Gmail). Chronosero uses a Google Gmail account to receive and store Discovery notification emails and business correspondence, including email forwarded from michael@chronosero.com. Google processes information in accordance with Google’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
Chronosero does not currently send Discovery information to any other outside service, customer-management system or automation platform.
Where Information Is Processed
Chronosero uses service providers that operate infrastructure in multiple locations. As a result, information handled through those services may be processed or stored in locations outside the state or country where you are located. Chronosero does not currently specify or control the physical location in which all information is processed by these providers.
How Long We Keep Information
- Discovery requests: Chronosero generally retains genuine Discovery information for 365 days, unless the information becomes part of an active customer relationship or needs to be kept longer for a legitimate legal or business reason.
- Suspected spam: kept for 7 days, then scheduled for automatic deletion.
- Copies in email and backups: Chronosero’s copies of Discovery notification emails, Chronosero’s own backup copies of Discovery records, and ordinary correspondence about an inquiry (including emails, text messages, voicemails and call notes) follow the same 365-day approach, with the same exceptions. Chronosero has set a regular schedule for reviewing these copies manually and removing them.
When information is deleted from active systems, residual copies may remain temporarily in provider-managed backup or recovery systems and expire according to the provider’s normal retention cycle.
Security and Access
Discovery requests are stored in Chronosero’s Cloudflare account, which is protected by two-factor sign-in. There is no public page or portal where stored Discovery requests can be viewed. Discovery notification emails are received in a Gmail account that is protected by 2-Step Verification. Michael Pruitt is currently the only person with access to these accounts.
Chronosero takes reasonable steps to protect the information it holds, but no method of storing or transmitting information is completely secure, and Chronosero cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Privacy Requests
You can email michael@chronosero.com to:
- ask what personal information Chronosero holds about you;
- ask Chronosero to correct information that is inaccurate; or
- ask Chronosero to delete your personal information.
Verifying your request. Before sharing, correcting or deleting information, Chronosero will take reasonable steps to confirm that the request comes from the person the information is about. Usually this means writing from the same email address you used with Chronosero. If more is needed, Chronosero will ask only for the minimum information needed to match you to the records. Chronosero does not routinely ask for identity documents such as a driver’s license, Social Security number or date of birth.
Deletion. When Chronosero receives a valid deletion request, it deletes your personal information from the systems and copies it reasonably controls, including its Discovery records, related emails, its own backup copies and ordinary correspondence. Some information may be kept where there is a legitimate legal or business reason to do so. Copies held in a provider’s backup or recovery systems, which Chronosero cannot remove directly, expire according to that provider’s normal retention cycle.
Correction. Chronosero will correct information where it is reasonable to do so, without altering records in a way that would make them inaccurate.
Chronosero will not share information about anyone other than the person making the request.
Children’s Privacy
Chronosero is a business-to-business service and is not directed to children under 13. Chronosero does not knowingly seek to collect personal information online from children under 13. If Chronosero learns that it has received personal information from a child under 13, it will review the information and take appropriate steps, including deletion when appropriate.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
Chronosero may update this Privacy Policy when its practices or applicable requirements change. When it does, the updated policy will be posted on this page and the effective date at the top will be updated. If Chronosero makes a material change to how it uses information, the change will be reflected in this policy before the new use begins.
